Pattaya —
Pattaya police have once again demonstrated their commitment to helping visitors feel safe and secure while enjoying their time in Thailand. Recently, a Russian tourist lost her iPhone 12 Pro Max while exploring a Pattaya temple, but thanks to the efforts of local law enforcement, she was reunited with her phone.
According to the Pattaya Police Facebook page, the tourist, Ms. Diana Khairullina, was out exploring the Khao Phra Yai temple on March 18th. The woman placed her iPhone with a blue/white case on the temple’s wall to take a picture and then forgot it. When she realized her phone was missing, she retraced her steps but was unable to find it, so she filed a report with Pattaya Police.
The officers acted swiftly, using CCTV footage to track down anyone who might have spotted and taken Ms. Khairullina’s phone. Then, police traced their way to a Thai woman, Ms. Naphatsakon Thipprachum, who was seen in the footage taking the phone.
However, Ms. Naphatsakon was actually trying to return the phone to its owner as she had posted the phone’s picture on Facebook to find its owner and was about to turn it in to the police.
The officers then arranged for Ms. Khairullina and Ms. Naphatsakon to meet each other at the police station. The Russian tourist was overjoyed to be reunited with her phone and thanked the Thai good Samaritan and police for their kindness.
