Pattaya —
A 43-year-old Thai man was arrested after he had stolen a gold necklace from a house owner in Pattaya last month.
Pattaya Police made an arrest at 9 PM on March 3rd of a suspected thief, Mr. Chanon Ritmongkol, 43-years-old, at the Rom Pho market in Jomtien, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung District, Chonburi. The arrest was in response to a report filed by Ms. Pawanrat Muangnoi, a 36-year-old homeowner, who alleged that the suspect had stolen her four-baht weight gold necklace.
According to police, Pawanrat hired Chanon to do a renovation on her house in Pattaya on February 20th. Chanon then reportedly stole Pawarat’s necklace and escaped.
Pattaya Police also told The Pattaya News that they detected an illicit substance in the suspect’s urine, and the suspect confessed to spending all of the money he had obtained from selling the necklace on buying illegal drugs, specifically cocaine.
Chanon was charged with taking drugs and stealing.
